
Salvador Sunyer studied Humanities at Pompeu Fabra University and graduated from ESCAC (Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia). He has been partnering with Nanouk films (Barcelona) since 2012 as a executive producer and director. From that moment on some of Nanouk's films have been recognized in festivals such as Sundance, San Sebastián, Málaga (Silver Biznaga) or Locarno (Grand Jury Prize).
In 2014 he co-directed the feature-length documentary Bugarach, which was awarded the FIPRESCI at the St Petersburg festival (2014) and nominated for best documentary film at the 2015 Gaudí Awards. It was also selected for the festivals Hot Docs Toronto, Prix Europa Berlin and IDFA Amsterdam.
His passion for the world of performing arts has led him to work with international artists such as Álex Rigola (Director of the Venice Biennale), the French company Baro d'Evel or the Belgian choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

From his desire to combine the scenic and cinematographic arts he created the project "The One Project", which he directs and produces jointly with Arts Santa Mónica and the Temporada Alta Festival. In 2015, he directed the first piece within this project, The Missing Part, selected at the Taiwanese festivals, Paris Courts Devant and winner of the first prize at the Choreoscope festival, gaining a special mention at the FEC festival. In 2019 "Restos de cosas" premieres with the artist Xavier Bobés and the voice of José Sacristán.
His first feature film as a producer, "Ojos Negros", directed by Marta Lallana and Ivet Castelo won the Silver Biznaga for the best film at the Malaga Festival 2019.
His work in the world of advertising and design has received national and international recognition. With "The Song of The Goat" he won his first Golden Laus Award 2016 (ADG-FAD) and the following year, the piece "The Pleasure Island", created on the occasion of the 25th edition of the Temporada Alta festival, was the winner of the Grand Laus 2017 prize (ADG-FAD) and the German Design Award in the audiovisual category.
In 2017 he co-directed the advertising campaign for the Nacional Dramatic Art Center of Madrid, together with the designer Javier Jaén, who was awarded the LAUS de Plata 2018 (ADG-FAD). In the same year the spot "L 'Incendi" premieres, winner of the Golden Laus 2018 (ADG-FAD) and the Grand Laus 2018 (ADG-FAD), being the first time in the history of these awards, that the same person wins the Grand Laus for two consecutive years.
In 2018 he writes and directs "La voz de España", an ironic short film concerning freedom of expression in Spain starring the singer Amaia Romero (OT) and in 2019 he premieres "L'origen" a commission for the plastic artist Miquel Barceló.
In the field of teaching, he has been a professor of the Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Documentary Studies at the ESCAC (Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia), of the Master's Degree in Audiovisual Design and Creativity at ELISAVA, (Barcelona School of Design and Engineering) and of audiovisual creation at EINA (Center of Art and Design of Barcelona).
